For this review, I am using my the Saionara Pico Kit with an Eleaf iStick Pico, from which I received from Max VaporNail. For my review, I am using 99%+ Terp infused Isolate slabs from The Hemp Barn. The strain is Sour Diesel; an in-house brand strain.
Saionara Pico Kit
Includes everything you need to start using concentrates in one of the most discrete and portable vapes currently on the market.
- A Full Saionara Kit
- 3 Coils
- The new Eleaf iStick Pico 75w Mod
Eleaf iStick Pico 75w Mod
The first thing that you want to do after opening your kit is to add the battery to the Pico. You unscrew the cover and place the battery inside with the + sign going in first. The negative side(flat) faces up. You can then screw back on the cover. The next step is to attach your Saionara to the Pico.
The Saionara
To attach your coils, you must remove the Saionara cap and place inside your coil, then screw it in. The next step I added my Isolate using the included scoop that comes in the same box as the Saionara.
Turning on the Pico is simple. You just click the black button on the side. The Pico comes with a small booklet which gives you a proper manual on how to operate and change the settings. You can set your wattage from 1 all the way to 75. I set my wattage to 15 and my temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. I set the ohms to .32. This give you less cloud and fuller flavor.
My first hit was a lot. I ended up coughing for a few minutes. I recommend holding the button for about 2 second and taking a slow pull. This will allow you to moderate your intake.
The CBD Isolate has a fruity smell and a good tasting vape. I can feel the effects within minutes. It came on strong since I did a stronger pull. The pain in wrist has went from a scale of 6 out of 10 to about 2 out of 10. There is also a numbing sensation in my wrist.
The Saionara Pico Kit Review
The Saionara Pico Kit is small and portable. It is not as small as other vape pens but for the ability to adjust your settings stand it apart.
Eleaf iStick Pico
First the Eleaf iStick Pico is one of the top box mods on sale. The device measures 2.54 inches tall by 1.74 inches wide. It has curved edges and it fits the hands perfectly.
One of the nice featured about the iStick Pico is the ability to update its firmware. You can download the newest version from Eleaf. The newest version 1.03 features 4 display interfaces. Puff interface, second interface, Voltage interface and simplified interface. These interfaces allow you to see your total puffs and the total vaping seconds available.
The power/fire button, which is also the navigation button, is in the perfect spot for your index finger. On the bottom of the Pico are two buttons that are used for adjusting. Clicking the fire button 5 times turns it on and likewise clicking 5 more times will turn it off.
The iStick Pico mod is a solid device that allows you to adjust the wattage from 1-75. This gives you an incredible range to adjust your settings as needed. There is a bypass mode which gives you the battery actual voltage. For most users, this is only for the most experienced.
The temperature control on the iStick Pico covers titanium, nickel, stainless steel and offers temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) mode. This means you can adjust how the device interprets the changes in resistance that accompany increasing or decreasing temperature, which allows you to adjust the responsiveness to suit your preferences. The TCR mode is accessed through the M1, M2 and M3 options that appear when you hit the power/fire button three times to enter the mode menu. You can lock the room temperature resistance of the atomizer by pressing and holding both the fire and “+” buttons at the bottom for two seconds. Your temperature can be set between 100 and 315 °C or 200 and 600 °F.
Lastly the iStick Pico will not work if your atomizer is not screwed on properly. You can tell if it’s in perfectly by looking at the ohms on the menu screen. If you see all zeros then you will need to tighten your atomizer more.
The Saionara
The Saionara is probably the most search and recognizable atomizer on the market. It is made from Medical Grade Stainless Steel. There are three coils included in the package. The Miracle A and Miracle B coil that runs at 7-15w and finally the black ceramic stainless-steel coil. Also in the box is one Dab tool.
Like most great vape pens, you can adjust the air flow by turning the cover at the bottom to reveal 4 small holes.
Saionara Miracle A coil/ Miracle B Coil
The Miracle A & B coils looks different from other coils. They are white and made from porous ceramic. The ceramic coils have an outer layer that is a smooth dense ceramic covering over an inner micro-pore ceramic layer with oil absorbing capacity. The wax melts from the outer layer into the inner layer to fully atomize. This makes a splash-free conservative way to vape your concentrates.
These coils do require a quick burn off. Usually two 5 second cycles at 12.5w will be sufficient. It is designed to draw oil up into it from the bottom to be vaporized in the center of the coils. Do not try run it in Temp Mode or over 20 watts as it will pick up a burnt taste that just will not go away.
Unlike some vape pens the Saionara mouthpiece protects the coils. The slats on the inside allows the vapor to spread out evenly on the side rather than straight up.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I am very pleased with the kit. For the diehard vape head this is the perfect kit. It gives you the ability to make plenty of adjustments. The price is very reasonable at $74.99.
The few draw backs I have is that even though it is small, it is not as discreet as other wax pens. For someone who wants a vape pen that allows them to slide in their pants and pull out and use this is not for you. Once you have the Saionara attached the the iStick Pico you can feel the weight. For the person who loves to adjust their settings then this is perfect.
